Loyola Marymount University is conveniently located five minutes north of the Los Angeles Airport on a picturesque bluff overlooking Marina del Rey and the Pacific Ocean. Founded in 1911, the campus is nestled within the quiet residential community of Westchester. Students will enjoy the close proximity to Santa Monica, Santa Monica Beach, and Venice Beach.
The Dell Rey Residence Hall is newly built (opened in 2006), and surrounded by the grassy, tree-lined campus with views of the Los Angeles skyline. The residence hall does not have air conditioning. There is usually a nice breeze that flows through the building as the campus sits on top of a bluff. Residential accommodations include double occupancy rooms with hall bath. Campus recreational facilities include a 30-meter outdoor swimming pool, indoor basketball and volleyball courts, and outdoor basketball court.
The local bus stops at the campus entrance. In 15 minutes, students will be at Venice Beach and in 30 minutes playing in the surf at Santa Monica Beach.
